family law

Our team can offer advice and Legal assistance to anyone who has been involved in an accident in the past three years and has suffered an injury, which was wholly or partly the fault of another person.
The first attendance is free of charge to enable us to assess the merits of your claim.
We try to ensure in all cases that we recovered as many of our costs as possible from the Defendant so that deductions from your damages are kept to the very minimum.
We can assist with many types of claim as detailed below:

Accidents at work

Most employees worry about making a claim for compensation against their employers. However, your employer is obliged to take out employer’s liability insurance and so your fears may be unfounded.
If you have suffered an injury as a result of an unsafe working environment, faulty equipment supplied to you by your employer or through insufficient training, it may be possible for you to recover compensation for your injuries and for lost income as a result of your absence from work.

Criminal Injury

If you have been the victim of a crime and this has resulted in injury, we can assist you in making a claim through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for you to make a claim from these public funds, your injury must have been sustained in Great Britain within two years immediately prior to making a claim. It is also important if you wish to make a claim that you assist the relevant authorities in bringing the offenders to justice if at all possible.

Road Traffic Accidents

At Cowlishaw & Mountford we handle claims from drivers involved in collisions, which are wholly or partly the fault of another driver. Our experience in Personal Injury Law means we can offer you instant advice in progressing your claim. We understand how distressing it is to be involved in a collision. We would be happy to talk to you about the circumstances of your accident and how we can help you make a claim for compensation. Remember, your first attendance at our office is free of charge and will leave you with all the information you need to decide whether you should proceed with a claim.

Clinical Negligence

Unfortunately, surgical procedure does go wrong on occasions resulting in patients being left debilitated or disfigured in some way. All surgery carries with it an associated risk. Should you feel that any procedure you have had has been carried out negligently, we can help you make a claim for compensation.
